LSUE (20-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener when Brooke Thomas (Fontainbleau) walked and scored on a two-out single by Logane Fuselier (Oberlin). Fuselier crossed home plate on a single to center by Kesley Hollier (Rayne).
The Lady Bengals added a run in the bottom of the second when Taylor Simon (Notre Dame) singled and scored on bunt by Thomas.
LSUE pushed ahead 5-0 in the bottom of the fourth when Simon tripled to center and scored on a single by Taylor, who later scored on a sacrifice squeeze bunt by Thomas.
The Lady Bengals completed the mercy-rule win with three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Fuselier singled and scored on a double by Simon, while Jaci Trahan (Delcambre) walked and scored on a sacrifice by Ashley Taylor (Teurlings Catholic).
Tina Schulz (Oak Ridge) earned the shut-out win as she struck out seven and scattered three hits over five innings of work.
Simon went 3-for-3 with a RBI and three runs scored, while Fuselier went 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored.
Thomas went 1-for-1 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored.
Hollier went 1-for-3 with a RBI, while Brooke Ort (Live Oak) went 2-for-3.
Taylor went 1-for-2 2 with two RBI and two run scored. Pam Wainwright (Sam Houston) went 1-for-2 with a RBI.
After Baton Rouge grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning, LSUE responded with five unanswered runs to seal a 6-2 win in the finale.

Baton Rouge moved ahead in the top of the third inning when Kelsey Couvillion and Allysa Williams singled and both scored on a single to right by Natalie Powell.
The Lady Bears’ lead was short-lived as LSUE exploded for three runs in the bottom of the frame to move ahead, 4-2.
Simon singled and moved to the corner on a stolen base and a ground out by Shulz. Simon scored on a single to left by Taylor.
Wainwright then blasted a triple to left field to push across Taylor, who scored on a single by Mariel Meche (Rayne).
The Lady Bengals added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth frame to seal the 6-2 win.
Fuselier walked and scored on a passed ball, while Schulz doubled and scored on a sacrifice by Taylor.
Kaylee Guidry (Walker) pitched six innings to earn the win as she struck out five and allowed two earned runs on six hits.
Alexi Reynolds (Dutchtown) pitched the seventh inning for the Lady Bengals, fanning one and allowed one hit.
Taylor went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a run scored to lead LSUE.

LSUE will travel to Gulf Coast Community College for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday before facing Holmes Community College on Saturday.
