Pine Prairie services set for teen accident victims

PINE PRAIRIE – This community where everyone knows everyone is in mourning in the wake of the deaths of two teenage boys who will be memorialized Friday in the chuch where they confirmed in their faith just a week ago.

Kyle Landry and Kade Guillory, both 17, died Tuesday morning when Landry’s pickup hit another vehicle, then rolled over several times.

The mid-day accident happened on La. 10 just east of Oakdale.

Visitation for the youths begins Thursday evening and continues until Friday 2 p.m. services at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Landry, of Bayou Chicot, and Guillory, of Pine Prairie, were active in school and shared interests in hunting, fishing and things mechanical.

Landry was an honor student. He was a member of BETA, FBLA, and the Math and Science Club. He was also a member of the Pine Prairie High School cross country team. he aspired to an aviation career.

He is survived by his mother, Laurie Brassette and husband Jeffrey of Bayou Chicot; his father, Raymond P. Landry and wife Torrey of Tate Cove; Paternal grandfather, Raymond C. Landry of Morgan City, Maternal grandparents, Glenn and Cynthia Wilks of Ville Platte, grandfather Terry and wife Linda McDaniel of Rayne, Roland and Cindy Brassette of Ville Platte and Kathryn Brassette of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mallory Landry and Isabella Brassette both of Bayou Chicot, and Kelsey Deshotels of Tate Cove, one brother, Gannon Deshotels of Tate Cove; .

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Landry and maternal great-grand parents, Oswell and Mae LeDoux.

Guillory was a member of Senior BETA, the Science and Math Club and FBLA. He was also an honor student who played one year of football.

His survivors include his parents, Robin and Angie Guillory of Pine Prairie; one brother Derek Guillory; two sisters, Lainey Broussard and husband Johnny of Cankton, and Malerie Guillory of Pine Prairie; Paternal grandmother, Hazel Guillory of Pine Prairie ; Maternal grandparents, Meris and Patsy Dupre of Grand Prairie.

He was preceded in death by his ,s paternal grandfather, Flarence Guillory.
