"This is something the Zachary school district has wanted to do for a long time," said Joey Sanchez, ZHS Athletic Director. "It just took us a while to find someone who could install good, quality seating."
The plan is to install 99 seats the first year, Sanchez explained. "If the demand is greater, we can increase that number to accommodate additional requests."
The 99 seats Sanchez refers to will be located in three rows of 33 seats in the middle section of bleachers under the Bronco press box on the home side.
The reserved seats - which are now being sold on a first come, first served basis - will be red, chair-back styled seats measuring 20 inches wide. Jackson's Bayou Boys, LLC, will be installing the seats.
"Ultimately, our goal is to sell 500 reserved seats," said Dianne LeBlanc, ZHS Athletic Dept. Secretary. "However, requirements call for 99 seats to be installed at a time. So once the first 99 seats are sold, then we'll begin filling requests for the next 99 seats."
The cost for reserved seating is $100 per chair for all Century Club members and $150 for non-members. Seats will be numbered, and those who purchase reserved seats will be issued a card with their name and seat number designated on it.
A police officer or JROTC member will check cards at each game and ensure reserved seats stay reserved, Sanchez said.
In addition, reserved seating will be for all ZHS home games including each play-off game that season. The only exclusion will be if ZHS hosts jamboree games, which is due to additional games played that evening by multiple schools, he said.
Reserved seating will not gain you free admission into the games.
Sanchez said that if families or couples have special requests and wish to be seated together, ZHS will accommodate those requests. "But again, we urge people to act quickly so we can make that happen."
The upcoming Bronco football schedule shows ZHS hosting seven home games, which is nearly twice as many as last year, Sanchez said.
The first home game for the 2012 season will be played August 31 against Catholic High School.
Other home games will feature match-ups between the ZHS Broncos and East Feliciana (9/14), Dutchtown (9/21), West Feliciana (9/28), Central High (10/5), Walker (10/19 - Homecoming) and Denham Springs (11/2).
Both Sanchez and LeBlanc said they believe the reserved seats, which went on sale Monday, June 4, will go fast. "We encourage anyone wishing to have reserved seating to act quickly. The deadline for purchasing seats is Friday, July 13," LeBlanc and Sanchez said.
LeBlanc explained that after the first 99 seats are sold, a reserved seating list will be generated for the next 99, and names will go onto the list in the order received.

Century Club members pay a $150 annual membership fee and are entitled to: a Century Club pass allowing two persons free admission into all ZHS and Northwestern Middle School athletic events (except football jamborees and LHSAA playoff games), a parking pass, one Century Club polo shirt (mens or ladies) or one Century Club hat and discounted reserved seating in Bronco Stadium.
