A Zachary teen has been arrested along with three others for allegedly vandalizing at least 42 mailboxes in West Feliciana Parish and possibly more, said Sheriff Austin J. Daniel on Monday.

WFSO deputies arrested the four teenagers late Sunday night, July 29, after a woman reported hearing loud banging on her mailbox and called police.

The four teens are accused of vandalizing at least 42 mailboxes, possibly more, Daniel said.

The areas of Joe Daniels Road, Jones-Vaughn Creek and Sage Hill in West Feliciana Parish are where the mailboxes with the most damage was reported.

Chance Edgens, 19, of 23045 Elberta Lane in Zachary, was arrested along with three St. Francisville teens: Matthew Morgan, 18, of 12372 Starhill Trace; Alex Funderburg, 19, of 11976 Indigo Lane; and Ty Gilleon, 18, of 4193 Richmond St., Daniel said.

The four were charged with felony counts of criminal damage to property, as well as illegal possession of alcohol by persons under the age of 21.

Sheriff Daniel said the boys admitted to vandalizing several other mailboxes in W. Feliciana Parish several weeks prior to Sunday night's arrest.

The teenagers will have their bail set Tuesday, July 31, when they face Judge William Carmichael, of the 20th Judicial District Court.
