The Dutchtown student-athlete died suddenly July 19, 2012, at the age of 14 while playing basketball inside the school's gym following a football practice.
His summer had been full of activities - he was a member of the Gonzales Dolphins swim team and had attended three football camps before settling in to regular workouts with the Dutchtown football team.
Cobb was 6'4" and weighed 215 lbs. His coaches and teammates describe him as always having a smile on his face, even during hitting drills.
He is described as a confident kid who was not arrogant and always wanting to participate - he also never wanted anyone else excluded.
Cobb was also a member of the Lacrosse team, BETA club, Fellowship of Christian athletes and an enthusiastic wakeboarder and hunter.

On Friday, Sept. 21, during the Broncos game with Dutchtown, ZHS will be featuring a 50/50 raffle for fans and attendees of the football game, and will be selling jambalaya plates on both sides of the stadium.
Raffle tickets will be on sale for $1 each and available only during the game from student council members who will be walking throughout the stadium selling tickets.
Winners will be announced in the first and second halves. The more tickets sold, the higher the prize money will be. Winners will receive half of the prize money with the other half going to the Living4Burke Foundation.
The family of Burke Cobb will have a booth set up on the home side to sell t-shirts for the Living4Burke Foundation. A video about the foundation will be playing in the booth.
In addition, donation jugs will be set up at both food and foundation booths to accept with all donations benefitting
the Living4Burke Foundation.
Anyone wishing to donate but who is unable to attend the ZHS vs Dutchtown game may drop off donations at ZHS.
