The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) announced Monday that it has hired Larry Collins as a director of business development. Collins will be responsible for regional economic development in coordination with the parishes of Ascension, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.

He will work in partnership with the economic development leaders in these parishes and business leaders throughout the region.

His duties will include prospect management, recruitment, project management, strategic development, and location consulting for new and expanding companies considering the region.

“Larry is a great addition to our business development team, especially as we expand our international strategy for foreign direct investment,” said Adam Knapp, President and CEO of BRAC. “The experience he brings to BRAC will be integral to the Capital Region’s efforts to retain and attract jobs throughout our nine-parish area.”

Collins spent over 20 years working in economic development, including working with business development teams and international development efforts for Louisiana Economic Development (LED).

He is a Baton Rouge native and holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
