The Basile Bearcats improved to 6-0 on the season with 34-0 win over Hamilton Christian Academy last week.
Kendrick Ceaser led the way as he ran for 245 yards on 16 carries and scored on runs of 45, 75 and 66 yards. He also scored on an 75 yard interception return on the first play of the second half.
Ceaser is in the top five rushers in state with 1,082 yards on 75 carries with 12 touchdowns so far this season.
For his efforts, Ceaser is selected the Eunice News Player of the Week for Oct. 4-5.
St. Edmund quarterback Perry Pitre completed 21-of-42 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown in the Blue Jays’27-21 loss to Catholic of Pointe Coupee. Drake Brunet caught nine passes for 125 yards for the Blue Jays.
Eunice High’s Darious Richard ran for 133 yards on 17 carries and scored three time in the Bobcats’ 35-34 overtime win over Northwest.
Trenon Trosclair completed 7-of-15 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Bobcats.
Iota’s Brandon Fantroy gained 131 yards on 17 carries and scored on runs of 7, 5 and 11 yards in the Bulldogs’ 31-14 win over Bunkie.
Basile quarterback Mark Ivory completed 7-of-13 passes for 118 yards in the win over Hamilton Christian.
