Cathy Borneman, director of The Little School at Zachary United Methodist Church, 4205 Church Street, invites Zachary and surrounding communities to attend the annual Fall-Christmas Bazaar this weekend for a shopping extravaganza!

The annual event will be held outside on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8 a.m - 3 p.m. and will include a Sweet Shop featuring homemade cookies, cakes and breads baked by staff and parents.

The Fall-Christmas Bazaar features local businesses and crafters selling their wares, arts & crafts and homemade items which make perfect holiday gifts.

In addition, the Baker Fire Department's Smokehouse will be on location for the kids!

Last Friday, Oct. 19, the BFD Smokehouse was at the Little School for the pupils to experience during October's Fire Prevention Awareness Month.

Baker/Zachary Firefighter Cathy Page, Baker/Zachary Firefighter Jonathan Dunaway, ZFD Capt. Casey Phenald and ZFD Firefighter Stephen Hunt were all on hand to assist the children through the Smokehouse and give them tours of a ZFD firetruck.

Page teaches kids in both communities as part of a community outreach program on fire safety.

Page taught the kids what to do if they ever experience or see smoke inside the home - get low, stay low, call 911 and don't back inside!

Be sure to drop by the Fall Bazaar this weekend so your little ones can visit the BFD Smokehouse!

The bazaar will also have the ZUMC Youth selling drinks, water and homemade salsa. BBQ Chicken dinners will be available from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and include chicken, potato salad, baked beans and bread.

Baskets of Goodies - a special booth - will have breads, cakes, chocolate mixes, coffees, spiced teas and mugs which have all been prepared by The Little School staff.
