Vote, vote, get out and vote! This call to action cannot be stressed enough.

Today, voting eligibility is determined by federal and state law, and unless you are under the age of 18, a convicted felon, a non-U.S. citizen or you aren't registered to vote, then this right is extended to you.

We've come a long, long way from the days when only rich white men with property and freed African American slaves - in only four states - were permitted to vote.

Can you imagine if those limitations were still enforced today? All women, other races and pretty much everyone else could NOT vote! It is unimaginable!

Yet, today, so many people do not exercise this hard-earned and hard-fought right to vote. I bet if this privilege were suddenly taken away, these same non-vote casting folk would be screaming: 'Outrage!'

It's our right, our civic duty and a privilege to vote. Do not take it for granted. Every vote counts, and there are still people around the world today that because of their race, gender or religion, cannot vote! This could be you! This could be us!

This could be America! Thank the good Lord, it is not.

I urge you all: find a way, find a ride, but get out there on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and V.O.T.E!
