After defeating Hahnville on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in front of a packed gym of spectators and supporters at Zachary High School, the ZHS Lady Bronco Volleyball team will compete in the regional round of the state playoffs.

Head Coach Madeline Blanchard-Gugich and her Lady Broncos will play St. Mary's Dominican Catholic High School, ranked 5th, in New Orleans on Monday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.

The 12th ranked Lady Broncos defeated Hahnville (ranked 21) 3-1 to move on to the regional rounds along with 15 other teams.

Area teams in the regional rounds include: St. Amant (2), St. Joseph's (4), East Ascension (7) and Dutchtown (18).

Teams from around the state who will be competing in the regionals include: Mt. Carmel (1), Lafayette (17), Destrehan (9), Bourgeois, H.L. (8), Archbishop Chapelle (13), Fontainebleau (3), Comeaux (14), Covington (11), Barbe (6) and Northshore (10).

The four teams advancing to the quarter-finals will play Thursday, Nov. 8.

The semi-finals on Friday, Nov. 9, and the two teams competing for the state championship Saturday, Nov. 10, will meet in the State Farm State Volleyball Tournament at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
