Drive One 4UR School, a Ford Motor Company program, was held at Zachary High Oct. 5.

The Zachary High PTO helped organize the fundraiser along with Superior Ford of Zachary, and a goal of $6,000 was set. Residents participated by taking free test drives in the Ford model vehicle of their choice in efforts to help raise funds for the high school.

For each participant who got behind the wheel, Superior Ford donated $20.

The money raised would go toward athletics, music, drama, teaching aids - any area where it's needed at the high school.

The groups met their goal, and last week, Superior Ford presented a check for $6,000 to ZHS during the Zachary vs. Denham Springs football game Nov. 2.

The Drive One 4 UR School program was initially developed as a fun, engaging way to help high schools raise money to support their sports and extracurricular activities.
