Sharron Ventura, co-owner of Raising Cane's in Zachary and a PTO member at Zachary High, is organizing a fundraiser to help a Zachary family whose home was destroyed by fire earlier this week.

"Please help spread the word to your family and friends that there is a family who needs our help - just in time for Christmas!" Ventura stated in an e-mail.

Ventura said the family escaped "with just the clothes on their backs and unfortunately, lost four pets in the blaze." Ventura said when she reached out to the family, "they were so excited."

The Zachary community can help by checking to see if it has any items the family needs and is willing to donate them. Please drop items off at the First Baptist Church of Zachary office, located at 4200 Main Street, or arrangements can be made to have the items picked up from you or your home.

For pick up, please contact Sharron Ventura at 266-4439 by calling or texting.
