Am I to be considered an Ebenezer Scrooge or doomed to a holiday season of Bah, Humbug-ness if I do not get a Christmas tree, hang lights, decorations or a wreath upon my door?

Why would I go to such lengths if only myself and a select few would ever actually see these festive adornments?

I prefer to get into the spirit in other ways!

Such as: Buying up Pennsylvania Dutch while supplies last! I love egg nog and they only sell this tasty beverage during the holidays.

I'll also be playing Christmas music in my car when I drive, watching reruns of Frosty and Rudolph, buying some sparkly new blouse that I tell myself will be for a Christmas party that I probably will not attend (it's just because I like the shirt that it made its way into my shopping cart.)

Oh, and I'll be purchasing gifts for loved ones, though I am not a Black Friday participant. AT ALL.

It's not that I don't like the holidays, it's just that I prefer to spread holiday cheer in other ways that do NOT require large crowds at the mall.

Baking or cooking for others, praying for world peace and good will toward all mankind - these are ways I prefer to be merry! I'm also a terrific shopper and subsequent wrapper, so there, those are my contributions to Christmas.

Lastly, but not least of all, is not forgetting the true reasons for the season - Jesus and thanking God for all the blessings he continues to bestow upon me! Happy Holidays!
