Superintendent Scott Devillier recognized this year's Christmas Card contest winner, Zachary High Senior Elyxcus Anaya.

Anaya was honored Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Zachary School Board meeting.

Superintendent Devillier said that in years past, the contest was mainly for students in elementary schools, but he decided to open the contest up this year to include high schoolers.

The Christmas drawing was selected and made into Christmas cards that will be mailed to local and state businesses, organizations, municpalities and governmental agencies throughout Louisiana.

All winners receive a framed momento of their original drawing and the Christmas card as a souvenir and reminder of their accomplishment.

Anaya was a Senior Maid on the ZHS Homecoming Court this year.
