He was self-employed for over 30 years with Southern Emergency and Rescue Vehicle Sales.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary.
Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery in Clinton.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 16 1/2 years, Gina Gerage Harkrider; three sons, Richard Cade Harkrider, Joseph Dylan Harkrider and Samuel Ross Harkrider; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie Harkrider Pelle and her husband Thomas of Kenner and Ann Harkrider Collins and her husband Swayne of Edom, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William W. Harkrider and his wife Michel of New Iberia and Steven A Harkrider his wife Marianne of Longview, Texas; and father-in-law and mother in law, John and Mary Ann Gerage.
He was preceded in death by Mr. & Mrs. William Harkrider Sr. and nephew Bryce William Harkrider.
Pallbearers will be Mark Van Arnum, James Piker, August Valery, Robert Lowrie, Eddie Sparacino and Alan Ashley.
Ricky loved fishing and playing with his three boys. He was an uncle and great-uncle to many.
