Baker Police apprehended a fugitive last week who was wanted for a robbery and a burglary, said Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps on Dec. 26 in a news release.

Detectives arrested 18-year-old Terry Lane Ferguson, Jr., of 5137 Western Avenue, Apt. C in Baker, on two outstanding warrants.

Ferguson is accused of burglarizing a residence on Nov. 12 in the 2400 block of South Street in Baker, Knaps said.

During that burglary, Ferguson and three accomplices - including a juvenile - stole the homeowner's safe.

The three accomplices had been previously arrested and the victim's safe has since been recovered from Ferguson's residence.

Ferguson has also been accused of simple robbery and second-degree battery on a juvenile that occurred Dec. 23.

In that incident, two of the juvenile victim's teeth were knocked out and his headphones taken from him, said Chief Knaps.

In separate interviews with detectives, Ferguson admitted to committing both crimes, Knaps said.

Terry Ferguson was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, simple criminal damage to property, simple robbery and second-degree battery.
