NEW ORLEANS – Move over Swamp People, Pawn Stars and Duck Dynasty members, here come\s Edwin and Trina.

A reality series, “The Governor’s Wife,” will premier next month on A&E Network.

The show features the family of former Gov. Edwin Edwards, primarily focusing on his wife, 34-year-old Trina Grimes Scott Edwards, who is 51 years younger than her husband.

The show will look at how Trina deals with Edwards’ daughters, Anna and Victoria, both of whom are old enough to be her mother, and her two sons.

The first of 12 episodes airs on Feb. 27.

Indications are that that Edwards, who met his wife while serving a federal prison term on a racketeering conviction stemming from riverboat gambling permits, will play a relatively small role in the show.

“The series follows Trina as she attempts to fit into the former governor’s upscale world and busy social life while trying to get along with daughters twice her age and corral her teenage sons,” a network news release says.

“Between school projects, running for president of the Homeowner’s Association, fending off skeptics who think she’s a gold digger, and thoughts of adding a baby of their own to the mix, the Edwards clan truly represent a new take on the modern family.”

Trina Edwards posted on her Facebook page “The show is fun, positive, and light-hearted in nature ... just like us! I am not allowed to discuss specific storylines, but I will say that the show does follow our quest to conceive a child ... sorry, but that’s all I can give you now.
