Summer intensives are an extraordinary opportunity for local dancers to study under the supervision of some of the most elite dance instructors in the country and explore dance in a fresh perspective.
Each year, Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre brings celebrated dance companies to Baton Rouge to audition not only local dancers but also regional dancers who travel to Baton Rouge in hope of attaining a coveted spot in a summer intensive program.
The audition dates are as follows: Nashville Ballet, Saturday, Jan. 12; American Ballet Theatre, Saturday, Jan. 27; and Joffrey San Antonio, Saturday, Feb. 2.
All auditions are open to the public and will be held at Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court, Baton Rouge.
Audition applicants must pay a registration fee and submit a photograph showing first arabesque in center in order to register. Each company has a specific set of dance level requirements.
