Seven employees at Lane Regional Medical Center were nominated by patients, family members, physicians and/or colleagues for The STAR Award for Achieving Excellence.
Lane’s STAR Award honoree is Courtney Day.
Day, a licensed practical nurse, has been employed at Lane for 13 years. She is currently a Nurse Educator in the Staff Development Department.
She is responsible for various duties including teaching nurse orientation, teaching CPR and facilitating employee in-services. Day is a member of Lane’s Practice and Research Council and the Lane Foundation Employee Giving Committee. She was also Lane’s Employee of the Year for 2006.
She and her husband, Wayne Day, reside in Zachary, and they have one son, Morgan. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family.
“Being recognized for such a special award is an honor,” said Day. “I am thankful to be part of the Lane family.” She added, “I would also like to thank Karla Miller for writing the nomination!”
At the recent award presentation, Day received a certificate commending her for “Achieving Excellence, Every Person, Every Time," a beautiful crystal sculpture, a Visa gift card and an extra vacation day.
The seven STAR award nominees were: Courtney Day, Staff Development; Tamara Dayton, Social Services; Amanda Partin, Rehab Services; Dawn Sanchez, Labor & Delivery; Octavia Taylor, 2nd South/Med-Surg Unit; Brittany Weaver, Intermediate Care Unit; and Emerson Williams, Lane Nursing Home.
