Author J. Derald Morgan, PhD., is writing a history of the McKneely (McNeely) Clan that settled in the Wilkinson County, Miss., and Feliciana Parishes in the early 1800s, arriving about the time that the Louisiana Purchase was made and before the purchase of West Florida.

The family arrived in the Florida Parishes and Wilkinson County in the early 1800s from S. Carolina arriving with other families.

The McKneelys and other families lived throughout the Florida Parishes, Orleans Parish, East and West Baton Rouge Parish, as well as Point Coupee, Iberville and Rapides Parishes.

Morgan is looking for copies of any material related to the McKneely, McCant, Scott, Skipwith, Rogillio, Reily, Boatman, Singletary, Winter, Nettles, Lewis, Brown, Germany, Denny, Worsham and related families.

If you have items of interest or suggestions about where to find material on these families, please contact him at (256) 426-7181 or e-mail jderaldmorgan@hotmail.com.
