"If the women can meet the same physical requirements as men then why not? Some women are determined to do this and out to succeed." ~ Jordan Logan, Zachary
In an effort to connect with our readers and find out what's on peoples minds or what they are talking about, we at the Zachary Plainsman and Zacharytoday.com will be out in the community asking questions, getting your feedback and finding out what's important...or not so important.

The feature is meant to be thought provoking, if not just plain entertaining!

The result is photos of folks and their answers and it's called Word on the Street.

If you have a great question that you would like to see asked & answered, OR if you would like us to come and report Word on the Street from your place of business, asking the question of you and your employees, we're happy to give your place of business a shout out!

Just e-mail stacy.gill@zacharytoday.com, and we will be there!

For January 2013, the Word on the Street was:

How do feel about the Pentagon recently opening up hundreds of thousands of front line combat positions for women in the military?

For answers, please look under the photos!

Thanks to Jordan Logan of the Zachary Police Department, George Myer and Sonia Breman of State Farm Insurance in Baker and Val Buxton and Luie Canezaro of Luie's Bait & Tackle for letting us interview them for Word on the Street!
