The 24th Annual Florida Parishes Forestry Forum will be held in the University Center at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond on March 15.

“Issues and programs affecting forest landowners is the theme of this year’s meeting,” according to LSU AgCenter area extension forester Brian Chandler.

The forum is designed to provide information on some of the issues and programs that could benefit or affect local forest landowners, Chandler said.

Topics to be covered at the forum include local endangered species, timber tax tips, forest road runoff regulations, forestry labor issues, Master Loggers and the federal farm bill cost share programs.

Registration is $25 per person before March 8 and $40 after that date. For more information or a program with registration form, contact Chandler at 225-683-3101.

The Florida parishes consist of East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington and West Feliciana.
