The Zachary High Lady Bronco Basketball team made it to the second round - the Regional Round - of the State Championship playoffs.

The girls basketball team, led by Head Coach April Brown Barnes, Asst. Coach Patrick Jenkins and Asst. Coach Traci Landry, played the Sulpur High Lady Golden Tornadoes last Thursday at home in the ZHS gym.

The girls fought hard and played well, but the fans and momentum of the opposing team from Sulphur was just too much.

The Lady Broncos were defeated by the Lady Tors, 52 - 40.

Overall record for the ZHS Lady Broncos this season, 16-16.

Mariah Wright and Lillie Snowden were named First Team, All-District, while Alyssa McKneely, Jasmine Mitchell and Breanca Cummings were named Honorable Mention, All District.

Congratulations on another successful season, Lady Broncos!
