Missy Higgins, 2013 Audubon Pilgrimage chairman, toasted the Pilgrimage volunteers at a dessert and champagne reception at the home of Peter and Finney Couhig held Feb. 17.

Invited to the lovely event were the various coordinators for homes and numerous committee chairmen, all of whom have spent countless hours organizing the 42nd Annual Audubon Pilgrimage to be held in St. Francisville March 15 - 17.

The beautiful affair was chaired by Laura McClendon, with a committee of volunteers including Kate Seal, Caroline Alberstadt, Megbe Hughes, Christy Dantin, Ashley Fox-Smith and Genie McClendon.

A champagne bar featuring mimosas, mango infused wine and fresh fruit accompanied a wide array of handmade desserts and cheeses.

Higgins, on behalf of the Pilgrimage Steering Committee and the West Feliciana Historical Society Board, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all of the volunteers for their efforts in making this year’s Pilgrimage a success. New events which will be held during this year’s three-day event will include an Art Show & Sale at the newly renovated Temple Sinai synagogue and the return of the ever popular children’s play “An Audubon Spring Sketch”.

Old favorites returning again are the Friday Evening Graveyard Tales with a wine and cheese reception, and the Saturday Soiree featuring music from the Feliciana Band and a catered dinner by Heirloom Cuisine.

Tickets to all events can be purchased at the Historical Society Museum or online at www.audubonpilgrimage.info.
