LA Farm Bureau Bronco Relays begin today

The Zachary High School track teams are off and running and in full swing of track season.

The Bronco teams have already participated in three indoor track meets including the Indoor State Championships held Feb. 23 at LSU.

Many members of both the boys and girls track teams qualified for the Indoor Sate meet.

The outdoor track season began Feb. 26 with the Tip-Off Meet at ZHS in Bronco Stadium.

Today, Mar. 8, the 4th Annual LA Farm Bureau Insurance Bronco Relays will be hosted at ZHS in Bronco Stadium.

The community is invited to come out and support ZHS in this exciting event.

Area schools expected to compete in the Bronco Relays include Northeast, Baker, West Feliciana, Scotlandville, Port Allen, Southern Lab, Central and Live Oak, as well as St. Amant, Parkveiw Baptist and Woodlawn.

Head Track Coach Chris Carrier extends an invitation to all former ZHS track athletes, parents of student-athletes or members of the community who are interested in voluntering today to e-mail him at chris.carrier@zacharyschools.org or call 225-658-7337 as soon as possible.

Field events begin at 3:30 p.m. and running events start at 5:30 p.m. in Bronco Stadium.
