Louisiana Connections Academy will host free parent information sessions to fulfill a growing number of requests for information about the virtual school program.
Parents and others seeking more information about Louisiana Connections Academy can call the school at 800-382-6010 or can attend the following informational session on Tuesday, April 16, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Baker Branch Library, 3501 Groom Rd.
At the information sessions, parents will have an opportunity to learn about the Connections Academy curriculum, and thoroughly explore the program. They can also interact with Louisiana Connections Academy staff and parents.
Principal Caroline Wood encourages families considering virtual school to attend an information session because while virtual education is a great choice for many families, it may not be a good fit for some.
“Virtual school requires parents to make a commitment to be involved in their child’s education,” said Principal Wood. “At our information sessions, we let families know what they can expect in the virtual school setting, and what it takes to succeed. We want students to thrive at Connections Academy and understanding how it all works is essential.”
Prospective students and their parents can also learn about Connections Academy via many social networks. Families may follow Connections Academy on Facebook and Twitter, watch videos on YouTube and read Virtual Learning Connections, the Connections Academy blog for families interested in supporting K-12 learning from home.
Louisiana Connections Academy parents praise the online school’s educational program, its exceptional certified teachers, and high quality curriculum.
