The driveway will provide easy access for food delivery trucks and for vehicles to pick up food.

Mayor David Amrhein says the food pantry is currently open and being used, but the outside of the facility was delayed due to recent rains.

The old food pantry building was housed in a t-building donated by the Zachary School District, and the Zachary Men's Club donated the land for the new site.

A ceremony to celebrate the grand opening is expected soon, date TBD.
