“I can’t stress enough that every vote counts,” said Secretary of State Tom Schedler. “If you anticipate being busy on Election Day or out of town, the early voting period is your chance to cast a ballot. Local municipalities are deciding important issues and electing local officials that will impact the lives of voters. I strongly encourage everyone to make your voice heard, and go vote.”
Thirty-eight parishes are holding elections on April 6. Those parishes include: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Catahoula, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Grant, Iberia, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lasalle, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Orleans, Ouachita, Rapides, Sabine, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. Landry, St. Tammany, Vermillion, Vernon, Washington, Webster and West Baton Rouge.
Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at their parish Registrar of Voters’ Office or at other designated locations.
