![]() GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND: On behalf of the American Cancer Society, Baker/Zachary Relay for Life Co-Chair Tamara Vines surprised Zachary High School student Joseph Smith Thursday, May 19, with an award recognizing his “above and beyond” service contribution to this year’s event, held April 16. Smith’s mother, Pamela, and several of his classmates watched as Vines presented the ZHS junior with a plaque of recognition for volunteering to set up bags for the event’s luminaria ceremony, as well as helping others load and unload their cars, set up and clean up. “Without you we could not have pulled it off,” Vines told Smith.
