The one thing Zachary High School's Cross Country, Soccer, Track and Golf teams had in common last season, was student-athlete Jonathan Davis.

While participating on those teams during his junior year, Davis earned his 11th overall varsity athletic letter - an accomplishment well-worth mentioning.

Last fall, while running for the ZHS Cross Country team, Davis was named an All-Metro selection, the first ZHS Cross Country runner to do so.

Last winter, the Bronco boys soccer team won their first district championship as a 5A team, and Davis was selected to the 2nd team All-District.

While running track this past spring, the Broncos clinched the district title, and Davis qualified for the Regionals in two individual events. The last time the Broncos won district in Track was in 2003.

Most recently, the ZHS Golf team won the state championship - a first ever for the Broncos. Davis was one of four ZHS players whose score counted at state.

"The success Jonathan enjoyed this year was as much a testament to his teammates as to himself," said his dad, John Davis.

Davis not only excelled on the field his junior year, but also excelled in the classroom. He received multiple recognitions including an academic letter, was named to the principal's list and was inducted into the National Honors Society.

Congratulations to Jonathan Davis for playing such a major role on all of his teams during their milestone seasons.
