OBERLIN – Allen Parish School Board member Keith Welch pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor theft and will resign.

Welch, 46, must also pay $2,000 in restitution to Coushatta Resort Casino, where he formerly worked and were the theft occurred.

Welch will be on probation four months and is eligible to have the conviction set aside if he avoids legal problems, according to Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
