Naomi Parker, 45, of 3411 E. Azalea Ave. in Baker, and her daughter, April Parker, 29, of 2017 E. Azalea Ave., Baker, were arrested Saturday, July 14.
Naomi Parker, the children's grandmother, was charged with child desertion and cruelty to juveniles, while April Parker has been charged with cruelty to juveniles, booking records indicate.
Baker Police report that April Parker complained on Saturday that her boyfriend, the children's father, took them without her consent, an affidavit states.
About the same time on July 14, an affidavit says that the father attempted to report the Parker women for abuse.
Baker Police interviewed the children who they say had been left alone on Friday, July 13, and that one of the children had broken a window.
Allegedly, April Parker began hitting one of the children in the face, neck and upper torso when she found out about the window, an affidavit reports. Parker also kicked the child when he fell to the floor.
An arrest warrant states that Naomi Parker would occasionally lock the kids outside the home until as late as 2 a.m.
The children said she would also hit them occasionally after drinking, state the affidavits.
