CROWLEY – The third-floor courtroom in the Acadia Parish Courthouse was packed Monday afternoon as Acadia Parish Clerk of Court Robert Barousse was sworn in for a third term.

The center of attention, however, seemed not to be the Clerk of Court, who ran unopposed in all three elections, but the infant twins, a boy and a girl, recently born to Barousse and his wife, Mandy.

“I thank God every day, because they are my two little miracles,” said Barousse in remarks about the importance of his family to him.

He also spoke about the importance of serving the people in Acadia Parish.

“I’d like to thank everybody for coming out today,” stated Barousse. “The most wonderful thing is to be your Clerk of Court. My doors are open to you 24 hours.”
