Bronco Wrestlers bring home the medals

The Zachary High School Bronco Wrestling team recently came in 2nd place at the Live Oak meet on Jan. 23 and honored its four senior wrestlers on Jan. 16.

Twenty-three teams converged on Catholic High School on Feb. 2 for the Baton Rouge City Championships.

The Broncos came in 6th place with a team total of 128.5, finishing behind Catholic, Brusly, Live Oak, Dutchtown and East Ascension in first thru fifth places respectively.

Bronco Chris Wright came in first place in his weight class of 222 pounds.

The Broncos also competed in the State Championships Feb. 15-17 in New Orleans. Final stats from the state meet were unknown at press time.
