Bronco Stadium was packed Friday night as fans from the Zachary community and East Feliciana poured in to watch two undefeated teams go head to head in high school football action.

The Broncos and the Tigers did not disappoint.

Zachary, now 3-0, and East Fel, which falls to 2-1, shared the same number of TD's at five each for the night.

But the Broncos edged past the Tigers coming from behind late in the fourth to emerge the victors with a final of 36-32.

Quarterback Mason Pace, #18, led the Broncos with three TD's, 321 yards passing and 20 completions on 32 attempts for the night, compared to East Feliciana's QB Kendell Beckwith, who threw for 191 yards and a touchdown, also rushed for 118 yards, two TD's and carried for 17.

The Broncos were on the scoreboard first as junior wide receiver Tyler Walker caught a pass from Pace for 23-yards.

But it was Dillon Beard who wowed the crowds catching a 21-yard Pace pass in the endzone pumping up the crowds on his first of two TD's on the night. Zachary 13, East Feliciana 0

The Tigers pulled ahead in the second at 13-12, but the Broncos wouldn't allow it and returned with not one, but two TD's just before the half ended.

Runningback Ron Pennington, did not disappoint either when he scored on a one-yard run for a TD followed by Beard's second TD of the night. Beard caught another Pace pass from 20-yards out pushing the Broncos into the lead, 29-24.

Neither team scored in the third quarter, but the fourth was a different story altogether.

As crowds cheered on every play made by both teams, the Tigers would score again in the fourth when Beckwith forced his way through Zachary's defensive line and rushed for 32 yards.

Beckwith would launch a 43-yarder to Kevin Woods putting the Tigers ahead in the fourth. East Feliciana 32, Zachary 29

Fans were on the edge of their seats, and it seemed a victory was imminent for the visiting side.

But the Broncos weren't finished.

EFHS's Kameron McKnight fumbled on the four-yard line, and the Broncos would took advantage of the error.

Pace and Pennington, a solid pair for the Broncos, would prove to be game-changers as Pace led the Broncos toward the endzone, and Pennington rushed for 15-yards scoring the winning TD with less than four minutes remaining.

Zachary would intercept as East Feliciana tried to regain the lead, but it was not to be.

Zachary remains undefeated in their win over East Feliciana with a FINAL SCORE of 36-32.

Great game!!! But, Dude #7 only caught one touchdown. The ref is blind. Even #7 tried to let him know that he dropped it.
