Broncos fall to Acadiana in third straight playoff game

For the third straight year, the Zachary Broncos ended their season Friday night with a loss to the Acadiana Wrecking Rams in the bi-district round of the state playoffs.

Seeded 14th, the Rams (8-2) defeated the 19th-seeded Broncos(6-5) with a final score of 63-42.

The Broncos' defense struggled against 510 yards from the Rams' offensive line.

Conversely, Zachary put up 463 yards passing with QB Trey Hills at the helm.

Acadiana took a 14-0 lead in the first-quarter, but the Broncos scored two touchdowns tying the game.

Going into the half, the Rams led 28-21, and in the third-quarter, the momentum changed.

The Broncos scored only one TD to three by the Rams, making the score 49-35.

It still seemed as if Zachary had a chance, but in the fourth Acadiana scored two more touchdowns to Zachary's one making it a final score of 63-42.

Acadiana meets West Monroe in the regional round of the state playoffs.
