ZACHARY/CLINTON--To promote education and prevention of cardiovascular disease, Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) and Lane Regional Medical Center (Lane) are hosting a Wine and Wellness Event on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Clinton Town Hall located at 11209 Bank Street.

The event is free and will feature screenings for cholesterol, blood pressure, and body mass index.

Demonstrations will be given in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and red wine sampling and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.

Screening results will be available on site, and a CIS cardiologist will be available to provide one-on-one consultations. This is an opportunity to relax and unwind while monitoring your health at the same time.

Heart disease is the number one killer of American men and women. These free screenings and presentations are provided to encourage the community of Clinton to learn the risk factors of heart disease and how to reduce their risk. Adapting a heart-healthy lifestyle and receiving appropriate medical care can help prevent cardiovascular disease.
