Grandchildren and grandparents will be guests of honor at the Fourth Annual Grand Day, beginning with the Noon Mass on Sunday, Oct. 21, at historic St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge.

The street party celebration following the Mass will showcase “Noah’s Ark,” the vessel of biblical fame, the Patriarch Noah, and his animals.

The Very Rev. Paul D. Counce, pastor of the Cathedral, will be the celebrant and will give a special blessing to all grandparents and grandchildren during the Mass.

All grandparents, their grandchildren and their families from throughout the Baton Rouge Diocese are invited to the Mass and hear a special homily by Fr. Counce.

The “Four Corners Celebration” outside the Cathedral Church after Mass will allow children to visit and take pictures with Noah and the animals; enjoy food, beverages and music entertainment; take part in a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, and many more delightful activities.

Event sponsors include the Cathedral Church of St. Joseph (www.cathedralofstjoseph.org), the Cathedral Council of the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies of the Cathedral.

The event is free and open to everyone. For more information, call (225) 387-5928.
