On July 23, Mike VI, LSU’s live tiger mascot, turns seven years old. To celebrate Mike’s birthday, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s volunteer league, Pearls & Tiger Paws, is hosting two events: a birthday party on July 21 and a painting party on July 29.

On Saturday, July 21 from 6 to 9 p.m., join us at Sally’s Circa 1857 on Government Street in Baton Rouge, La. There will be birthday cake, live music and a silent auction. Auction proceeds and a donation of $20 per person will benefit the LSU SVM. This event is co-sponsored by Yvette Marie’s Café and Assurance Financial.

On Sunday, July 29 from 2 to 5 p.m., we’ll be painting the eye of the tiger at Corks ‘n Canvas on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. There will be door prizes, birthday treats and wine. Space is limited so go online at http://corksncanvas.com/batonrouge/ to make your reservation. The cost is $40 per person and includes the canvas and paints. Bring home your own piece of LSU while supporting the LSU SVM.

Please contact Laura Lanier at llanier@lsu.edu or 225-578-9826 to RSVP for the July 21 party or for more information.
