Long-time attorney

LAFAYETTE – Services for attorney Keith Borne will be Wednesday. He died Jan. 29 at age 57.

He practiced with several firms before founding Borne & Wilkes in 1994. He also owned The Borne Quilter shop.

Survivors include his wife, Renee-Claire, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

LSU psychology professor

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Wednesday for LSU professor emeritus Dr. Nathan Gottfried. He died Jan 16 at age 83.

At LSU he was head of the Developmental Psychological Graduate Program and director of the Psychological Service Center. He was a disaster research consultant in Louisiana, Mississippi and Puerto Rico.

Survivors include four step-children.

Southern U. asst. band director

ADDIS – Services for longtime assistant band director at Southern University Carnell Knighten will be Wednesday. He died Jan. 25 at age 60.

He was also an instructor of music at Southern and marching band arranger at South Carolina State University.

Survivors include his wife Kathy and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Hall’s.

Restaurant owner, cookbook author

CARENCRO – Services are Tuesday for restaurant owner Enola Prudhomme Prather. She died Jan. 28 at age 80.

She owned Prudhomme’s Cajun Cafe and was author of three cookbooks. She was once named Louisiana Woman of the Year.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters.

Arrangements were by Melancon.
