God welcomed our Mother and Granny home on July 6, 2010. She was 92 years old, a resident of Greenwell Springs and a native of Slaughter. She was the former owner of Doughty’s Grocery for 30 years and was retired from Hancock Fabrics with 20 years of service.

Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 5pm until 8pm and on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 9am until religious service at 11am conducted by Bro. T.W. Terrall. Burial will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Charlotte Moore and husband, Robert, Greenwell Springs and Ellen Butler, Denham Springs.

2 Sisters, Edith Doughty and husband, Charles, Walker; and Betty Pope and husband Robin, Zachary.

A granddaughter, Misty Moore Adamo and husband, Gregory

2 great grandchildren, Sophia and Carter Adamo.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Frank Doughty, parents, John and Lizzie Hadden, Sisters and brothers, Margaret “Sis” Laird Palmer, Jessie Johnson, Ewen “Bud” Hadden, Roy Hadden and Robert Hadden.

Her passion for genealogy was an extension of her deep love for her family.
