Superior Ford general manager Patrick Campbell presented Zachary High Principal Wes Watts with a $4,000 check Friday, Oct. 29, at the Zachary vs. Walker football game.

The $4,000 check will be divided four ways with the SGA, Choir and Drama Departments each receiving $500, said Watts. The remaining $2,500 will be used for teachers to attend professional development conferences and training.

Ford Motor Company and Superior Ford partnered to help raise money in support of Zachary High School as part of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program. Members of the local Zachary community helped raise $4,000 for Zachary High School by test driving a Ford vehicle. Superior Ford worked with Zachary High School to host the one-day event on Sept. 3. For each participant who came from a unique household, Ford and Superior Ford donated $20. Approximately 200 people raced down to the high school.

Since the start of the program in 2007, Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program has raised over $3.3 million for nearly 1,000 high schools across the country and has enabled more than 173,000 people to test drive new Ford vehicles. The monies raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program have helped fund extracurricular activities like sports and band programs, helping to ensure that these programs continue in local communities.
