East Baton Rouge Parish County Agent Terrence Marshall received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during the 2012 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference held recently in Charleston, SC.

Marshall was one of several honorees representing the top two percent of the membership selected by their peers and the Director of Extension.

The following represents the honored'd recognition citation: A County Agent who serves in an urban and rural setting, Marshall works with a diverse group. He has devised efforts to address concerns of homeowners and home gardeners, as well as beef cattlemen and forage producers. His work with beef producers resulted in cattlemen completing a “Producer to Packer” beef educational program. Marshall's training of 4H youth in Ag Engineering and Livestock Projects has produced numerous state winners.

Marshall has been employed by the Southern University and LSU Ag Centers for 34 years, serving in Ascension and East Baton Rouge Parishes. He is President-elect of the Louisiana County Agricultural Agents Association.

He is married to Sharon Marshall and the father of two children and three grandchildren.
