Electronic Waste Recycling Event Feb. 8-9 in Baton Rouge

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, along with the Louisiana Senate Environmental Committee and Louisiana State University, remind citizens to recycle their electronic components at the Electronics Waste Materials Recycling Day.

The Electronics Waste Recycling Day will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., in the parking lot across from Alex Box Stadium on the Louisiana State University campus, 3511 Gourrier Avenue, Baton Rouge.

The service is free and open to the public.

Friday, Feb. 8 – LSU parking lot, 8 a.m.-noon, E-Waste recycling drop-off for businesses.

Saturday, Feb. 9 – LSU parking lot, noon-5 p.m., E-Waste recycling drop-off for the general public.

Materials that will be accepted include computers, monitors, televisions, LCD panels, printers, other computer electronic games, VCRs, circuit boards and other household electronic devices.

Materials that will not be accepted include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, backup or UPS power supplies, batteries (that are not integral to the system) and appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators.
