Cancer survivors, along with their family and friends, will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Baker City Park with its 1st annual “Walking a Mile against Breast Cancer”.

The celebration begins at Baker City Park on Groom Road across from the Municipal Building at 8 a.m., and the non-competitive walk steps off at 9 a.m. with a short program immediately following the walk.

Community organizations, survivors, citizens and health professionals will be among the participants expected for a morning of festivities, including a picnic, music, entertainment and an opportunity to release balloons in dedication of those battling or have battled breast cancer.

Registration is $25 on the day of the walk.
