ZHS Head Baseball Coach Jesse Cassard
Seven former Zachary High School baseball players are coming together as a team for a truly unique opportunity. They will be participating in a hitting and pitching camp for up-and-coming baseball and softball players.

ZHS Head Baseball Coach Jesse Cassard will be hosting his popular two-day baseball camps for boys and girls at the Broncos' field house Monday, Dec. 20, and Tuesday, Dec. 21, located at Zachary Youth Park, 1650 Mount Pleasant Road (Hwy. 64.)

Cassard's camps are legendary for "teaching the fundamentals in baseball, softball and life."

"This is such a unique and one-time opportunity since I believe so many of these guys who are currently playing college ball will eventually be drafted in the MLB amateur draft," said Cassard of his former players. "I think it's so cool that they are giving their time to come back and help out the younger kids. It's very unique that they care about tradition and want to keep progressing."

Cassard, a four-time state champion coach, said there's a core group of kids who have been coming to his camps for the past several years, and he hopes to see them all this year as well.

Boys and girls ages 5 - 14 are invited to attend the two-day camps (the Christmas break will be in full swing!) in a safe, secure environment while learning the fundamentals of hitting and pitching by former ZHS baseball players who have all gone on to play college or professional baseball!

In the pitching camp, kids will be taught by Zack Von Rosenberg of the Pittsburgh Pirates; Joe Martin of Southern Miss.; Jesse Simpson of the St. Louis Cardinals; Brandon Efferson who plays for Southeastern La.; and Taylor Guilbeau who is an Alabama signee.

The hitting camp will feature Ben Hernandez from NWF Community College in Florida; Brad McDavid from Southern University and the Rockford Riverhawks; and Allman Snowden from ULL.

Early registration ($50 each camp) is encouraged through Friday, Dec. 17, as the camps are expected to fill up, and enrollment is limited. Late registration ($60 each camp) will be 7 - 8 a.m. on camp day.

Hitting Camp will be 9 a.m. - noon each day with Pitching Camp to follow 1 - 4 p.m. These are two separate camps and will require separate registration. Camp registration fee does not include meals or accommodations. For more information, please visit cassardbaseballcamp.com or contact Jesse Cassard at 810-7529.

To register your child now, please mail a check payable to Jesse Cassard Baseball Camp to 2591 Woodbend Avenue, Zachary, 70791.
