The Zachary High School Lady Bronco Varisty softball team celebrated the only two seniors on the roster last Saturday, March 31, prior their game against the Lady Bulldogs from Lutcher High School.

Seniors Katie Browne and Raven Fisher, both of whom have signed scholarships to play college softball, were honored by Head Coach Leslie Efferson, the Lady Bronco coaching staff, families, teammates, friends and fans.

Browne, 18, a right-handed senior catcher, will be attending the University of Georgia in Athens to play ball for head coach Lu Harris-Champer.

Efferson played for Champer when she attended Nicholls State when Champer coached there.

Outfielder Raven Fisher signed a scholarship Feb. 1 to play softball with Hinds Community College, a junior college in Raymond, Miss., about five miles west of Jackson.

Fisher will be playing ball for Head Coach Mike Grzanich.

After being honored, Fisher suffered a mild concussion after running into another player at the start of the Lady Broncos' game against Lutcher. Fisher is doing fine as of this posting.

The girls played well, Saturday, despite being a young team, but eventually lost 3 - 2 to the Lutcher Lady Bulldogs.
