TOLEDO BEND -- Investigation continues in the death of a Natchitoches Parish whose body was recovered Monday from Toledo Bend Reservoir.

Justin Wilson, 22, of Provencal, went missing during a storm Sunday night.

DeSoto Parish and Sabine Parish deputies found the body in about 9 feet of water near Lanan Bridge, which crosses an arm of the lake just north of La. Hwy. 6.

Wilson and two companions, also from Natchitoches Parish, were fishing under the bridge most of Sunday afternoon. As a line of thunderstorms approached, they packed up to leave but got their truck stuck as they pulled the boat from the water.

While waiting for the weather to clear, the trio noticed their boat had floated off the trailer.

Wilson and one of the others swam toward it. The other man retreated to shore after he began to cramp.

He told deputies he heard Wilson call to him but could not swim out to him.
