Chelsea Thornton, 23, allegedly killed the children, ages 3 and 4, in their apartment late Wednesday afternoon. The children were found in a bathtub by their grandmother.
Thornton picked the children up from nursery school earlier in the day.
The mother and children had lived in the apartment for about a week. The father lives in Houston, Texas.
