After having their season opener washed out by Hurricane Isaac, Northeast grabbed its first win of the season with a 22-0 shutout over Belaire Bengals.

The Vikings scored first on a 25-yard field goal by Guillermo Diaz for a 3-0 first quarter lead.

Northeast pushed ahead 10-0 on a Stephan Jackson 9-yard run and Diaz’s PAT.

The Vikings increased their lead to 16-0 on a 7-yard run by Darryl Adams and closed the night with an 8-yard touchdown by DeMarcus Eubanks.

Northeast rolled up 282 yards on the ground, as Yates had 110 yards on 18 carries, while Adams finished with 109 yards on 15 carries. Way to go, Vikings!

Northeast High takes it on the road to Olympia Stadium on Friday, Sept. 14, where they will face the Tara Trojans who lost last week to West Feliciana, 25-20.
